Welcome To TriciaLyons.com

image I would like to thank all those who believe in the democratic process and signed my petitions which allow me to be on the ballot for City Council. There have been and will be many that make promises for changes for the better for you and your family, as well as for the city of Toledo as a whole. We all wish to believe the words of those that we take a chance on. Some do come through with their promises, while others do not. Some go door to door claiming they will be your answer to what ails you. Upon election, the same person no longer remembers you or your concerns. Your phone calls go unanswered, and e-mails ignored. Once in, they feel they have a seat for life and do not have to do the hard work they had promised. I am not seeking election to obtain power or to make empty promises I will later forget. I am here out of concern for this city, my pocket book and yours. My fear is my child will move away and not return as there is no hope for his future in this city that we call our home.

I fear we will all lose our sense of pride and our sense of community here in Toledo. Our taxes are too high and our business climate is not friendly. Citizens are moving out as fast as they can to get away from the burdens they feel here.

We expect our children to be respectful and mind their manners and play well with others. We should expect this from our elected officials as well. How often do you see in the paper or on the news of another embarrassing finger pointing episode? Adults should behave as adults and take responsibility for the job they were elected to do, instead of infighting , blaming and name calling. Party politics has become an embarrassment for this city. It's time to put the pettiness on the back burner and elect Independents who are here to do the job. We are facing a possibility of six new council members and a new mayor. Lets make the right choices this time to make the direction for our city the right one. I believe that I and the rest of the Teamwork Toledo members are the right decision and it is the right time.

Thank you again for the opportunity to be here and to serve you next year.
